Knee pain can arise from osteoarthritis, meniscus problems, ligament injury, inflammation or overuse. The right plan depends on a careful history, physical examination, activity goals and appropriate imaging when needed. Treatment may include activity changes, strengthening, pain management, rehabilitation and selected procedures when clinically indicated.
Your surgeon may discuss how symptoms began, the activities they affect, previous treatments and relevant medical history. Examination and imaging decisions are based on clinical findings. An individualized plan may include education, self-management, physiotherapy, medication, follow-up, or procedure discussion when medically appropriate.
Sudden major weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, inability to bear weight after injury, fever with a hot swollen joint, severe deformity, and cold or numb limbs require immediate medical evaluation.
